Anyone else’s beach bag look like this?
On a trip to the beach there are some oils you shouldn’t be without. You don’t need to take your entire kit, or even your “go everywhere oil bag of 30 oils”.
I usually take an oils bag with me everywhere I go. Everywhere. To the cinema, on a day trip in the car, to the cafe.
But not to the beach.
You don’t want to expose all of your oils to intense heat, so it’s not wise to leave your oils stash in the car while you sun yourself.
Here are the top four products you want to take with you on a trip to the beach:
I attract mosquitoes like you wouldn’t believe. Now not every beach is going to have mozzies, but if you’re someone who gets bitten then you will want to pack this and then spray it around your ankles.
TerraArmour is the outdoor blend, it’s an amazing alternative to the toxic store bought sprays and is just as, if not more, effective. It contains Lemon Eucalyptus Oil which has been proven to repel mosquitoes.
Here’s a link to how you can use Terra Armour.
Just in case you get bitten because the mozzies got to you before you could spray, Lavender Touch can help to relieve any itchiness.
Lavender Touch is a 10ml pre-diluted roll-on bottle of Lavender. This is one of my must-haves and I kick myself if it gets taken out of my bag to be used at home and then left behind.
You can use Lavender for any irritated skin, so it’s also awesome for if you get a little bit too much sun on your skin.
Here’s a recipe for an after-sun soothing spray:
16-ounce glass spray bottle
1 cup aloe vera juice
1/4 cup Fractionated Coconut Oil
1 teaspoon vitamin E
8 drops Lavender essential oil
8 drops Tea Tree essential oil
8 drops Peppermint essential oil
Note: You can find Aloe Vera Juice at your local health food store.
Tip: Shake before each use to incorporate all ingredients. Spray onto skin as needed and enjoy its soothing benefits.
You can also use Lavender in the unscented body lotion to get a good application onto sun-kissed skin.
Tea Tree Touch
I have a 6-year-old son, and any trip to the beach involves rock climbing and exploring. It is not a laze on the sand visit.
Tea Tree Touch is a 10ml pre-diluted roll-on bottle of Tea Tree. This is a must-have for every parent, especially if you have kids who have no pause switch and are always on the go.
This oil is great for when you have scraped yourself on a rock, or accidentally stood on a sharp piece of shell. I use it alongside Lavender.
A must-have if you do not like heat! This oil cools us down and offers relief from the burning sun.
I love to have this in a spray bottle, which I make from an almost empty bottle of Peppermint oil.
All you need is to source a spritzer spray top, which you can buy from here.
Take your bottle, add about 10 drops and then top with water. Snip your spritzer spray to make sure the hose fits the bottle. Then screw on the top. You just need to shake the bottle before you use it.
Peppermint is awesome to use to spritz on your face, wherever you feel hot and also to help you feel energised – as if you’re like me, a trip to the beach can wipe you out!
