It was a Saturday in March, 2016.
I’d driven up to Drury, Auckland from my home in Rotorua, New Zealand for a dinner and sleepver at my friend Claire’s house.
There was a bunch of us – some of Claire’s oldest friends and some of us who had met in an online business group.
One from this latter group was Dr Martha Nessler. Martha rocked on up, with a larger than life personality – probably her American cowgirl persona while the rest of us were English or Kiwi.
She had a personality that filled the room.
She’d brought her big case of oils and her diffuser. The case was opened and oils put in the diffuser straight away.
We ate dinner – it was a delicious pork belly and roasted vegetables.
Afterwards Martha invited us to smell her oils.
My first impression was how beautifully they were presented. The case, the bottles, understated but perfect for their contents.
I can’t remember which of the oils I smelled, how many single oils or blends I sniffed or applied. But I remember THE ONE.
It’s the women’s blend made with Bergamot Peel, Ylang Ylang Flower, Patchouli Leaf, Vanilla Bean Absolute, Jasmine Flower Absolute, Cinnamon Bark, Labdanum, Vetiver Root, Hawaiian Sandalwood, Cocoa Bean Absolute, Rose Flower essential oils in a base of Fractionated Coconut Oil.
The Emotions and Essential Oils book says this blend “challenges an individual to work through their issues relating to both femininity and sexuality. If one has rejected their feminine energy, this blend invites them to heal their wounds and find balance by reconnecting with their feminine side”.
I don’t know what it was that drew me to it, maybe it was the ylang ylang. Whatever it was, it hit me straight away.
I needed this in my life.
I felt not quite unstoppable, but it definitely made me feel stronger. I had a lift in my self-esteem and I felt less self-conscious.
I didn’t mean I suddenly found myself shouting from the rooftops but it helped me feel better about myself.
Confident, inner happiness.
Whisper is great as a perfume and can be worn daily on the wrists, in a diffuser necklace or splash it on yourself at night for a good sleep.
I’ve built up my collection significantly and Whisper remains my favourite. It’s just a shame it only comes in a 5ml bottle!
